Join us for an insightful and informative event, a “Maestro Class”, designed for student and professional Conductors and led by Joseph Giunta, Des Moines Symphony Music Director & Conductor.
Maestro Class Schedule of Events:
5:30-6:30 p.m. Focusing on Wagner’s Overture to Tannhäuser and Strauss’ Death and Transfiguration, participants will share in a thought provoking dialogue while learning effective and valuable score preparation and rehearsal techniques. Maestro Class attendees are encouraged to bring scores for these works.
7:00 p.m. Participants will be invited to stay and observe Maestro Giunta in rehearsal with the Des Moines Symphony as they prepare for their upcoming concert:
WAGNER Overture to Tannhäuser
STRAUSS Death and Transfiguration
TCHAIKOVSKY Music from Swan Lake
This event is free to attend but an RVSP is required.
All participants will also receive a complimentary ticket to attend the Des Moines Symphony’s Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake Masterworks Concert as our personal guest.
