Most memorable experience with the Orchestra
Definitely when Yo-Yo Ma opened the season. He was so gracious and exuded so much emotion when he played. Talk about being starstruck!
How I got started playing my instrument
When my older sister started viola lessons with Des Moines Symphony principal violist Sherida Josephson I had to go along because I was too young to stay home by myself. I used to hum all the time and make faces when my sister played wrong notes. Finally, Sherida told my mom if I was going to hum and sing, I may as well start taking lessons!
Favorite solo piece
Bach's Sonatas and Partitas
Other than classical music _____ is on my iPod
Florence + The Machine, Adele, Carrie Underwood, Lady Gaga, Lady Antebellum, pretty much anything I can sing loudly in my carBack to Meet the Musicians
