Des Moines Symphony Academy Day 2012: Free tickets for first 200 students

November 7, 2012

We’re pleased to announce that Sun Dec 2 is Des Moines Symphony Academy Day! To commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the Des Moines Symphony Academy, the Des Moines Symphony is giving away free tickets to the first 200 students (ages 7-18) for the Sun Dec 2 Liszt & The ‘Italian’ concert. Complimentary tickets must be requested at the Civic Center Ticket Office by Fri Nov 30. Limit of four tickets per family or group.

“These free tickets allow kids who may have never heard a professional orchestra to experience it live,” said Symphony Academy Managing Director Joshua Barlage.

“The Des Moines Symphony Academy is a community of musical excellence, and education is at the heart of what we do. We want kids in the Des Moines community to be able to experience this great music live. It will be an experience they’ll never forget.”

As part of Des Moines Symphony Day, Symphony Academy students will also perform in the West Lobby prior to the Sun Dec 2 concert.

More than 420 participate in private lessons, classes, chamber music and three youth orchestras weekly at the Des Moines Symphony Academy, housed in The Temple For Performing Arts in downtown Des Moines. Find out more about the Symphony Academy at dmsymphony.org/academy.
