Des Moines Symphony Announces Spotlight at the Temple
DES MOINES SYMPHONY ANNOUNCES NEW CONCERT EXPERIENCE: SPOTLIGHT AT THE TEMPLE
DES MOINES –The Des Moines Symphony is pleased to announce the launch of a new concert experience, Spotlight at the Temple, on Tuesday, May 15 at 7:30pm.
Spotlight at the Temple is an exciting new concert experience curated by Des Moines Symphony musicians and performed in a unique, intimate atmosphere. Guests are invited to grab a cocktail and experience musical artistry up close and personal as Symphony musicians take center stage – with a few surprises along the way.
At the premiere event, four small chamber ensembles featuring ten Symphony musicians will perform in the round, offering up-close connections to a wide variety of music through narrative, artist collaborations, and audience engagement. After the concert, guests can stay and mingle with musicians as the bar stays open for an informal post-concert reception.
Spotlight is part of the Des Moines Symphony’s ongoing efforts to reach new audiences and connect members of the community with its musicians and artists on a more intimate level by breaking out of the traditional concert setting. “Not only does Spotlight allow our musicians to take center stage, it breaks down the barrier between audiences and performers in a new and exciting way,” said Joseph Giunta, Music Director & Conductor of the Des Moines Symphony. “We’re thrilled to bring this unique concert experience to not only our longtime Symphony guests, but to new audiences as well.”
Tickets are $15 (general admission) or $45 (VIP Experience) and are available online at dmsymphony.org. VIP Experience ticketholders will receive reserved cabaret table seating and an invitation to a pre-concert cocktail & hors d’oeuvres reception hosted by Maestro Joseph Giunta. The pre-concert reception begins at 6:30pm; doors open for general admission ticketholders at 7:00pm.
