IRA Charitable Rollover

A Tax-Saving Way to Help the Des Moines Symphony

BGCI Violin Lessons PhotoDonating to the Des Moines Symphony & Academy directly from your IRA is both convenient and a tax-wise way to support the music you love.  If you are 70½ years old or older and required to take a minimum distribution (RMD), you can now transfer a gift (up to $100,000 annually) directly to the Symphony, have it count as all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution, and recognize no taxable income on the transfer.

The IRA Charitable Rollover was signed into law in December 2015 and is now permanent, allowing you to plan your charitable giving and use your required distribution as a tax-free transfer to the Des Moines Symphony or other qualified charities.

These gifts are put to work today, allowing you to see the impact your gift is making to help the Des Moines Symphony & Academy continue offering extraordinary, live musical experiences and outstanding educational programming.
