Des Moines Symphony Performs at Luther College

On Friday, November 8, the Des Moines Symphony will travel to Luther College in Decorah, IA for a special performance with Jon Kimura Parker.

Friday night at 7:30, the Symphony will perform at the Center for Faith and Life on the Luther campus to kick off Luther’s Dorian Keyboard Festival. While in Decorah, Symphony members will dine with Luther’s orchestra students and work with high school students on campus for the Dorian Keyboard Festival on Saturday. Maestro Giunta will also lead a conducting masterclass with Luther College students. The Dorian Keyboard Festival will continue through the weekend with a Piano Duo Recital, a Middle School Student Honor Recital, and a High School Student Honor Recital.

On Saturday, the Symphony and Mr. Parker will return in time for this weekend’s Masterworks concerts. Join us for Masterworks 3: Grieg & Dvorak at the Des Moines Civic Center Saturday, November 9 at 7:30 and Sunday, November 10 at 2:30. Tickets available through the Civic Center Ticket Office.
