The Encore Society
Planned gifts through a will, retirement account, life insurance, annuity or another financial planning vehicle allow donors the opportunity to make a substantial gift to the Symphony without depleting day-to-day or retirement income. These gifts can also provide tax advantages for the donor or lifetime income for the donor or their family.
Planned gifts to the Symphony’s endowment may also afford naming opportunities, including principal and section chair endowments, concert or series endowments, including education programs, special projects and more. These gifts help the Symphony & Academy continue offering excellence in musical and educational programming in the future.
When you notify us that the Symphony is included in your estate plans, you will automatically become a member of the Encore Society and receive invitations to special events throughout the year.
If you would like information, have questions about making a planned gift, or if you already have the Des Moines Symphony in your estate, use the form below or contact Dustin R. Ross, Director of Development, at 515.280.4000, x4016 or email@example.com.
What are my options for making a Planned Gift?
We can help you take those first important steps toward planning your estate with some basic information. You will learn how the most popular and useful charitable giving techniques can help you fulfill your philanthropic and financial goals. The rewards are many! You can guarantee security for yourself and your loved ones, support charitable organizations of importance to you, reap financial and tax benefits, and find peace of mind. We have prepared some general information, but we always recommend that you consult your own financial or legal adviser.
Gifts to the Des Moines Symphony & Academy’s endowment are invested under the guidance of Des Moines Symphony Foundation trustees. The principal of the gift remains intact and is not spent. Interest from your gift will be used to support the Des Moines Symphony & Academy for years to come. Unrestricted gifts can be made for general purposes, or you may make a gift to one of the named funds with earnings going toward a specific purpose, such as orchestra & musicians, Academy scholarships, and education programs.
If you would like information about establishing a named fund for a specific purpose or find out information about current funds, please contact Dustin R. Ross, Director of Development, at 515.280.4000, x4016 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
