Keith Lockhart & Wang Lu Maestro Class

Join us for an event designed for conductors and composers featuring conductor Keith Lockhart, Conductor of the Boston Pops and Artistic Director of the Brevard Music Center, and composer Wang Lu, Associate Professor of Music at Brown University and Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation Commission Recipient.

This event is presented in conjunction with Maestro Lockhart’s appearance as Guest Conductor with the Des Moines Symphony. 

Maestro Class Schedule of Events:
10:00am Observe Keith Lockhart in a rehearsal setting by attending that morning’s dress rehearsal with the Des Moines Symphony. 

12:30pm Share in a thought-provoking conversation with Keith Lockhart and Wang Lu on the artistic process between conductor and composer in bringing new works to the concert stage.  Participants will have the opportunity to submit other discussion topics prior to the event.

Maestro Class attendees will receive a complimentary ticket to attend that weekend’s Discover Groundbreaking Innovation Masterworks concert.
