- Instrument Viola
Katy is an active freelance musician originally from the Kansas City area. She has completed degrees in both Violin and Viola Performance from Truman State University and the University of Kansas, respectively. Casting a wide net in order to have as much fun as possible, she drives around a few hours in every direction from her Wisconsin home playing for as many orchestras, musicals, operas, and ballets as her schedule will allow. On her quieter days between musical excursions, she works at her most excellent day job at a cat hotel. Katy joined the Des Moines Symphony viola section in 2022 and always looks forward to these happy trips to the Viola Haus.
