As the temperatures drop and the holidays draw near, the Des Moines Symphony invites our community to join us in spreading warmth and compassion. At our Masterworks 3 concerts on November 22 & 23, we’ll be hosting a Coat & Care Drive benefiting Central Iowa Shelter & Services (CISS)—an organization dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity right here in Central Iowa.

We’re asking concertgoers to bring new or gently used winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and essential hygiene products such as shampoo, soap, deodorant, and toothpaste. Every donation helps provide comfort and dignity to those in need during the cold winter months.

In the spirit of giving, the Des Moines Symphony is also donating ticket vouchers to future Masterworks concerts for guests of CISS. Music has the power to uplift, connect, and inspire. We’re honored to share that experience with members of our community who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend.
