Matthew Johnson Returns to Iowa for Yankee Doodle Pops
The Des Moines Symphony is thrilled to welcome Matthew Johnson for this year’s Yankee Doodle Pops celebration! A true triple threat, Matthew has made a name for himself as a dynamic singer, actor, dancer, and vocal arranger, performing alongside legends like Stevie Wonder, Pharrell, John Legend, and Jennifer Lopez.
Rooted in musical theater training at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, Matthew’s journey has taken him to some of the world’s biggest stages — from doing vocal arrangements for the Grammys to performing at the Emmys and the Billboard Music Awards.
You may have seen him on American Idol, The Voice, or starring in Christmas on the Square with Dolly Parton. Now, he returns to Des Moines to light up the stage with us on July 3 at the Iowa State Capitol.
