Give the young musicians in your life a truly special gift this year, the opportunity to learn from professional musicians in private lessons or small groups, and participate in ensembles conducted by the Symphony's accomplished faculty. The Symphony Academy supports six youth ensembles (Preludio Strings, Youth Sinfonia, Youth Philharmonic, Youth Symphony, Youth Wind Ensemble, and Youth Jazz Orchestra) in addition to a Beginning Strings Program, Honors Ensembles, Zauberflöte, and private lessons. The Spring semester starts in January.
Gift price: Private lessons are $36 per 30-minute lesson. The Des Moines Symphony Academy offers tuition assistance in the form of need-based scholarships to ensure that family finances do not prevent any student from participating in private lessons, classes, or ensembles at the Symphony Academy.
