Since Kemin Industries was founded in 1961, they’ve maintained a clear vision focused on improving the quality of our everyday lives. This vision reflects the company’s commitment to sustainability, global reach, and innovation through science and creativity. It also means they’re committed to improving the quality of life in our city. Their annual Guest Artist Sponsorship not only brings incredible talent to the Symphony stage, but it also has a direct impact on the arts and culture scene in Des Moines.

R.W. and Mary Nelson, founders of Kemin Industries, have been longtime supporters of the Symphony. Since 2003, Kemin Industries has been a generous partner of the Des Moines Symphony, including gifts to our 75th Anniversary Campaign in 2013 and the Civic Center Acoustical Shell Project in 2015.

This year, Kemin will serve as Guest Artist Sponsor for the second concert in our 2024-2025 Masterworks Series featuring violinist Geneva Lewis (Saturday, October 26 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, October 27 at 2:30 PM at the Des Moines Civic Center).

Sponsors play a fundamental part in keeping the rich tradition of the Des Moines Symphony alive. Thank you to our friends at Kemin for your belief and investment in the Des Moines Symphony!
