This Thanksgiving season, we give thanks to you!
From November 20 to 27, we will celebrate Donor Appreciation Week to honor all you do to ensure that the Des Moines Symphony & Academy remains a vibrant part of the Central Iowa community.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, here is a list of reasons why we are grateful for you:
- Because of your support, we presented 25 concerts in the past year. Throughout those concerts, we brought 149 pieces to life.
- In the past year, more than 100,000 people attended our concerts. Your support for our programming allows us to share our music with such a large audience.
- Additionally, 5,678 children were able to attend one of our four youth concerts this year. These concerts are made possible by donor support.
- Ticket sales only cover about 25% of our operating costs. Donor support is a vital component of our budget.
- Thanks to sponsorships, we were able to welcome many world-class guest performers throughout the year, including Sandbox Percussion, Joyce Yang, and Amaryn Olmeda.
There are so many reasons why we are grateful for you, but the biggest is that you make our music possible. Donors are essential to our mission. Your generosity supports the musicians and music we all love, helping us lift spirits and provide joy and beauty for years to come.
