Holiday Brass
Experience the Des Moines Symphony brass section like never before in our inaugural Holiday Brass Concert! Celebrate the sounds of the season with favorites like Joy to the World, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing and more. Westminster Presbyterian's beautiful Dobson Pipe Organ will be prominently featured alongside timpani, percussion, and our powerful brass section. Don't miss your chance to experience this intimate, family-friendly holiday concert!
Student Activity: Orgelkids
Your entire family will enjoy our Holiday Brass concert! Students in grades 2-6 are invited to Orgelkids, a special event on Saturday, December 21 at 6:30 PM. Participants will learn how pipe organs function through the hands-on experience of assembling, and later playing, a working organ complete with pipes, keys and bellows! Spots are limited, so RSVP with your ticket purchase!

Joseph Giunta Conductor
One of America’s most distinguished, versatile and dynamic conductors, Joseph Giunta is a musician of international acclaim. He is recognized as an important American conductor for his innovative programming and for his compelling interpretations of traditional and new music. His musical depth combined with his boundless energy and contagious enthusiasm makes him one of the most respected and successful orchestra leaders in the United States.
Juli Bey Organist, Westminster Presbyterian Church
Juli Bey is a keyboardist and church musician who’s worked with congregations around the Midwest and internationally for over thirty years. Based in Iowa since 2013, she has accompanied numerous choirs and musical theater productions, played for solo and American Guild of Organist recitals, and been a featured performer for programs on KCCI and Iowa Public television. She holds a music degree from Central College with an emphasis on sacred music and organ performance.
Juli currently serves as the organist and handbell choir director at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Des Moines. She also sits on the executive committee of the Central Iowa American Guild of Organists and is one of the founding teachers with the Grinnell School of Music, a non-profit aiming to make quality music instruction accessible to people in Grinnell and surrounding areas. This will be her Des Moines Symphony Orchestra debut.
