Oh Say, Can You Sing? 2023

It is time for the Des Moines Symphony’s 11th annual “Oh Say Can You Sing?” competition. This year’s competition will be held during the Des Moines Arts Festival, on Saturday June 24th at 11 a.m. We are looking for 20 singers ready to take the stage to win the chance to sing the National Anthem backed by the Des Moines Symphony at the annual Yankee Doodle Pops Concert on Monday, July 3, 2023 at the Iowa State Capitol. 

Come compete or cheer on your favorite singer at Temple Chess & Poetry Garden, located outside the Temple for Performing Arts. Can’t make it to watch the performance? We will be broadcasting the competition on Facebook Live!

The competition winner, in addition to singing at the Des Moines Symphony's Yankee Doodle Pops on July 1, will also receive two VIP tickets to the Des Moines Symphony's Yankee Doodle Pops, two 2023-2024 Season Flex Packs, and admission for two to a Masterworks concert intermission reception. The first runner-up will receive two VIP tickets to the Des Moines Symphony's Yankee Doodle Pops and two 2023-2024 Season Flex Packs. The second runner-up receives two VIP tickets to the Des Moines Symphony's Yankee Doodle Pops and two 2023-2024 Masterworks tickets.
