ReMix: Spring Serenade
Join us for ReMix, a free and fun evening of mixology and music trivia held live on Zoom! Join us at 7 for a mixology class led by our friends at Table 128. We’ll provide a list of ingredients ahead of time and walk you through the recipe step by step.
After mixology, grab your friends and join us for a fun and challenging round of music-themed trivia hosted by trivia mastermind Marnie Strate – no musical expertise required! Your teammates can join you in person or on Zoom – we’ll sort you into breakout rooms by teams. This event is virtual, which means you can recruit your trivia-loving friends and family to join us from anywhere in the world! Gather your brainiest bunch of friends and fight it out for first place.
The game will consist of several rounds of general trivia with a few music questions peppered throughout the evening. The winning team will take home a variety of prizes, including free streaming passes to the Des Moines Symphony for each team member!

Mixology
ReMix will kick off with a live mixology class from our friends at Table128. They'll walk you through mixing "Perfect From Now On"
Gather the following ingredients in advance to mix your cocktails live during the class.
Featured Cocktail: "Perfect From Now On"
Rittenhouse Rye (or the rye whiskey of your choice)
Orange & Spice Syrup
Red Wine Reduction
Chocolate Bitters
Orange & Spice Syrup:
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
1 orange peel
2 cinnamon sticks
5 cloves
5-10 allspice berries
In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil and dissolve sugar. Reduce heat to simmer. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, strain out the spices, and store in the refrigerator.
Red Wine Reduction
Use any red wine available - it can be fresh or you can repurpose wine that has been open for a few days. Bring the wine to a simmer and simmer for 15-20 minutes until it's reduced to 1/3 of the original volume.

Trivia
Trivia mastermind Marnie Strate will be leading us in a few rounds of team trivia. This month's trivia will be focused on movie music! Invite your friends to join you, then register your team for Tuesday's event. You'll need to choose a team captain to submit your answers. Registration is required for all participants joining via Zoom so we can share the link to join Tuesday's event.
