The Des Moines Symphony Academy provides the very best music education learning and performance experiences for musicians of all ages. Since 2003, the Des Moines Symphony Academy has been a musical community of excellence where talented and motivated instrumental students of all ages can learn from renowned professional musicians and educators.
The Symphony Academy hosts over 450 music students each week who particiatpe in a variety of programs including: Beginning Strings Program, private lessons, chamber music and five youth ensembles:
- Preludio Strings (Grades 1-4)
- Youth Sinfonia (Grades 4-6)
- Youth Philharmonic (Grades 7-9)
- Youth Symphony (Grades 10-12)
- Youth Wind Ensemble (Grades 9-12)
SCHOLARSHIPS
The Des Moines Symphony Academy offers tuition assistance in the form of needs-based scholarships to any student with no discrimination towards a student’s color, national origin, sex, age, religion or disability. The purpose of the Symphony Academy’s scholarship program is to ensure that family finances do not prevent any student from participating in private lessons, classes, or ensembles at the Symphony Academy.

Students enrolling mid-semester will have two weeks from registration date to submit a scholarship application.
