The initiative was designed to offer unique opportunities for Academy students and Symphony musicians as well as deeper community engagement.
In 2023, rising star Kevin Zhu will present a variety of events to area students. In addition to the Masterclass at Drake University, this brand-new program will take Zhu into several area schools, including Roosevelt High School, East High School, Hoover High School, Lincoln High School, Valley High School and Valley Southwoods Freshman High School. He will also work with Des Moines Symphony Academy student ensembles.
